CATOLICO CONOCE TU IGLESIA,

Friday of the First week of Advent Readings of day

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 9:27-31.

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed (him),crying out,"Son of David, have pity on us!" When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them,"Do you believe that I can do this?" "Yes,Lord," they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said,"Let it be done for you according to your faith." And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this." But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.

Latin Liturgy « Out of gloom and darkness, the eyes of the blind shall see» (Is 29,18)

Let the sun, the stars, the earth and the seas Ring out their joy at the coming of God most high; Let the rich and the poor unite in song To welcome the Son of the supreme Creator! Born before the morning star, He is the Savior long foretold: Glorious fruit of a Virgin,Son of our mighty God. He is the very King of glory Who is to reign over every king, Who is to trample the cruel enemy And heal a sickened world. Let the angels also rejoice, Let all peoples leap for joy, For the Most High comes down in lowliness To save all on the point of death... Let prophets lift up their voice in prophecy: Emmanuel is already near! Let the tongues of the dumb be loosed And you, O you lame, run out to meet him (cf. Is 7,14; 35,6)... All you nations, every island Acclaim this mighty victory; See! Our Savior comes! Run to meet him like the deer. Let the eyes of the blind, Shut to light until now, Learn to pierce the shadows of night And open to the true light... All praise and honor, power and glory To God the Father and his Son, In the unity of the Holy Spirit To ages everlasting!
